DESCRIPTION

The SIBELSOUND 400, is a revolutionary two-channel audiometer. The entire system is controlled by Digital Signal Processor (DSP) for reliable, quick and easy audiometric exploration of hearing thresholds and screening tests, such as suprathreshold pure tone tests. The SIBELSOUND 400 audiometer was developed by SIBEL, S.A.'s RDI department in collaboration with the Surgery Department (Ear, Nose and Throat and Audiology) of the University of Barcelona and well-known specialists in the field, in accordance with standard criteria of both national institutions such as the UNE and international institutions such as the IEC, ISO, etc.

DSP DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY

A Digital Signal Processor that uses an optimised microprocessor for applications that require very high-speed numerical operations. The processor is capable of working with multiple data in parallel, while its design and specific instructions are ideal for digital processing, features that distinguish a DSP from other types of processors.

COMMUNICATION

One of the great qualities of the SIBELSOUND 400, is a communications system with other equipment that allows it to:
• Print directly to a USB printer
• Transfer information from the unit's internal database to a PC
• Communicate with a PC in real time
• Export patient tests to other management systems (EMR)
• Update the unit's internal firmware Using the appropriate software,
communications can be established through two different channels:
• USB (standard)
• RS232C Serial (optional)

Audiometer - Literature

Audiometer adalah peralatan elektronik untuk menguji pendengaran. Dalam penggunaannya, audiometer menghasilkan hanya satu nada (nada murni)pada beberapa frekuensi dan beberapa intensitas. Audiometer digunakan dalam pengujian audiometri dengan hasil berupa audiogram.

Digital Audiometer is a computer software application for investigating hearing thresholds in a 0 Hz to 22,000 Hz frequency range and -20 dB to 100 dB SPL range. It runs on popular desktop hardware, including portable computers, and does not require any external or internal proprietary devices. It is very precise, easy to use, and due to the stability of digital circuitry, needs to be calibrated only once.

Digital Audiometer allows for a very accurate evaluation of hearing loss, auditory problems and capabilities.

Audiometry consists of tests of function of the hearing mechanism. This includes tests of mechanical sound transmission (middle ear function), neural sound transmission (cochlear function), and speech discrimination ability (central integration). A complete evaluation of a patient's hearing must be done by trained personnel using instruments designed specifically for this purpose.

Pure tones (single frequencies) are used to test air and bone conduction. These and speech testing are done with an audiometer. The audiometer is an electric instrument consisting of a pure tone generator, a bone conduction oscillator for measuring cochlear function, an attenuator for varying loudness, a microphone for speech testing, and earphones for air conduction testing.

Other tests include impedance audiometry, which measures the mobility and air pressure of the middle ear system and middle ear (stapedial) reflexes, and auditory brainstem response (ABR), which measures neural transmission time from the cochlea through the brainstem.
